to get the traveling out of our system
in may:
- fly to seattle, then drive down the coast to san francisco, then fly home — 7 days.
in june:
- drive to iowa (8 hours), from iowa to illinois, illinois to home (9 hours).
- drive to charlottesville (10 hours) and fly home.
in july:
- fly to las vegas, stay 3 days, and fly back.
- drive rosie to camp in richland center, wisconsin (1.5 hours west of madison, 9 hour drive) and then back the following day (steve did this trip without me).
- fly from detroit to miami to st croix (9 hours); stay for six days. fly home from st. croix to san juan to miami to detroit (this took 15 hours; home at 1am).
- the next morning, drive to detroit with jack, plane delayed 3 hours, fly to philadelphia. two days later fly home (flight cancelled, wait in the airport from 4 until 11pm, home by 1am).
- the next morning, drive to madison with the dogs (9 hours, through 2 hours of Chicago traffic). the next morning pick up rosie at camp in richland center, then drive eight hours home.
in august:
- this coming weekend: drive four hours north with two kids and two dogs, stay for a week, drive home.
